Technology, to me, means the ability to express myself and discover new things I didn’t know about previously. Through websites or apps, I am able to see the creations and the art of others. Through those same websites or apps, I am able to then express myself and share it with others. Animation to me is an art form that few are able to pull off well, but when they do the result is usually incredible. Without animation technology, most of the video, or communication technology that is available to us today would not exist. Through these technologies I have been able to learn things that I would never have had the ability to learn without it. I have taught myself how to play the drums and the bass through online videos and lessons. I have been able to find sheet music to be able to play songs I enjoy, and I’ve used programs to write my own music. I’ve been able to build and work on a computer. I have been able to repair my car without having to go to a mechanic. I’ve discovered music that I never would have listened to unless it was easily accessible, like it is on the internet. My life would be very different if I did not have access to the internet. I would be much less knowledgeable, and I would have a lot less skills. I wouldn’t be able to have interaction with people I know as much without the modern technology. Through the available technology I have been able to stay in contact with people half way across the country. Before these technologies, people simply lost contact with people who moved away. My future plans are to continue to learn through technology. Also I want to learn more about animation to expand my knowledge on this subject. I want to be able to use animation to be able to express myself. I want to be able to combine my skills in music and in animation to be able to create things that I am proud of, and things people will want to see and listen to. I want to make things that entertain people, and things that make people feel. I want to be able to imagine an art piece, and be able to take that idea and create it to be just like the way I imagine it. I want there to be no disconnect between my idea and inspiration, and the final project.
